Traumatized Dog Refuses To Leave Her Cardboard Box After Being Saved

In the time I spent reading about abandoned dogs and their rescue stories, there is always that one thing that connects all these dogs.

Well, what is it? The answer is easy. It’s hope. I know, it’s that simple, but it always amazes me how every time a dog is abandoned, he or she will simply stay on the spot where they were left.

They are always hoping that their owners will come back for them.

It’s always tragic and heartbreaking, especially for the dog in this story, but we have to remind ourselves that there are also people in this world who help dogs and want to see them live a long and fulfilling life.

What’s In The Box

When Harvest was first found, it was a very hot summer day, and one person just happened to notice a small dog in a cardboard box.

It was horrible, as the dog had no food or water whatsoever and was simply left there in such a state.

She was later rescued by the Dallas Dog rescue organization who were very surprised when she wouldn’t leave the box.

Patti Dawson, president of Dallas Dog, said to The Dodo: She never moved from the box. She was just waiting for someone to come back.

The staff weren’t sure what to do, so they decided to take her to the shelter in her box in case she was paralyzed and couldn’t move.

After some time, Harvest walked out of her box and they knew she was fine. Dawson said: They left the box in her kennel because that was her security

The people working there noticed that the dog was just terrified and spent most of her time cowering away from people, so they decided to make her feel safe.

A New Beginning

Two weeks later, she was taken into a foster home and they immediately noticed a big change in her.

She was a lot more outgoing and full of energy. Her playfulness was rubbing off on people and everyone just loved her.

When she’s feeling a bit tired, she loves to sit and watch TV with her foster family.

Dawson said: It took her about a week before she really opened up, and she hasn’t slowed down or looked back since.

It didn’t take long for this story to have a happy ending, as not long after getting taken in a shelter, Harvest found her new family.

The staff and everyone included is so happy to see that she is finally safe and happy in her new home.
