Lucky Golden Retriever Survived 16 Days By Swimming Along The Coast
You are very beautiful fur baby so happy you were found safe and I love you sweetheart ♥️♥️♥️
On June 6, Chunk, a 3-year-old Golden Retriever, was playing catch with his owners Marie and James Zangara when he became sc.ared and ra.n off into the woods.
Chunk’s owner has tried everything to find him since he went mi.ssing from his home on Sunday, including handing out flyers and calling the police.
But it wasn’t until more than three weeks later that New Jersey State Police Soldiers Ryan Koehler received a call informing them that a golden retriever had been spotted swimming in Barnegat Bay on the Jersey Shore and needed their assistance in rescuing it.
When they attempted to grab him, he jumped into the water. The officers used the Zodiac boat to direct the engine to the dog, which was approximately 75 yards from the shore. They gently guide the puppy to land and lift it onto a pier behind a rope house. By the time he was rescued, he had swum nearly two miles across the bay.
Chuck was extremely [ti.re.d] at the time, and he appeared malnourished and on the verge of sta.rva.tion.
Once on land, Chunk backed away and growled in [fe.ar] of the so.ldiers. However, they kept Chunk safe by their side until the dog’s family arrived. Chuck’s family breathed a sigh of relief when part of their family recovered from their sh.o.ck, and the dog was overjoyed to see his family again.
Chunk, three years old, has been mi.ssing for over two weeks. He was overjoyed to be reunited with his grateful owners.
Of course, Chuck will learn a lot of lessons as a result of this, and he will never dare to run away from home again!
So pleased he is back safe and sound. 💕 beautiful boy🥰
